In this lesson, you will learn how to create an assessment, and about their relationship to courses. You will also learn how to add results for an assessment, and publish them to students’ profiles.

Description of the Fields for a New Assessment

FieldDescription
ClassSearch for the class that you wish to give this assessment task to.
AssessableTick the box if this task is assessable. Leave unticked if it is simply a class task.
Course AssessmentSearch for the Assessment Header that you have placed on the Course.
NameThe name of the Assessment Header will appear by default – however, you can change the name to suit your needs.
WeightingEnter the weighting of the task.
Available to StudentsEnter the date that the students received or will receive the Assessment.
DueThis is the due date for the Assessment.
Marking DueThis is the date the marking is due to be completed.
Assigned ToChoose the teacher who is responsible for the marking of this task.
Include in ReportThis will add the the Assessment to the Academic Report, if it is supported by the Academic Report Template.
CategoriesYou can add categories to this Assessment to use for analysis later. Examples include Examination, Topic Test, Presentation, etc.
DescriptionThis is a description of the task that can be as long or as short as you require.
Grading MethodThis is the Grading Method that will be used for this Assessment task.
